Shopify is an awesome hosted e-commerce platform, allowing anyone to dive into the art of selling products or digital downloads online. Dropshipping is supported through numerous plugins and plentiful payment gateways are supported.

The only downside, something I see many people complain about, is the inability to make major changes to the checkout pages.

You are able to change the look and feel, add some text, choose payment processors and define shipping rates, but that’s about it…

There’s a simple solution for this though…

How to modify Shopify checkout pages?

All you need is a free cloudflare.com account and make sure your shop’s DNS is set to their DNS servers. (hosting any online property behind Cloudflare should be the first step anyway for anyone launching a new project)

Under Cloudflare’s DNS settings, add two records:

Aside from protecting your shop against hackers & attacks, improving loading speeds and providing a free CDN you now also have access to Cloudflare’s Apps…

Apps to modify your pages

In the top toolbar click Apps to see which apps Cloudflare has to offer.

The most interesting ones to modify the content of your pages before they are shown to your visitors are:

Add CSS, allowing you to change look & feel
Add Content, easily add content to 1 or more pages
Add custom HTML to any page

But wait, there’s more!

The collection of available apps steadily grows. You can try them out in ‘preview mode’ before you actually activate them. Many of them are free.

Some worth checking out are:

  • Shepherd
  • Typist
  • Flashcard
  • OpenDyslexic
  • Unless
  • Updateable
